What really struck me is the billboard ads. They are pretty disturbing. I don’t know anyone who does meth, but I’m sure the shocking ads are warranted.

Just found this blog while looking up absinthe in preparation for a trip to Europe. Anyhow, you have a cool blog going here and I plan to check back from time to time. Inspires me to write more, actually. I think I have a similar experience with alcohol as you do. Perhaps I can find some on the continent. I’ll give it a shot.

Planets Collide is an amazing song. And I love Down. I was actually thinking about them when I mentioned Crowbar and Pepper. The one time I actually got to see Down (it was Ozzfest a few years ago), Phil was so out of his mind he couldn’t remember how one of the songs started.

I don’t know how bad the problem is in Georgia, but if it’s anything like here, I think the ads may be warranted. I know I’m sheltered and naive, but I keep hearing that this is an accurate portrayal of the problem, the ease of addiction. And the results of addiction are horrifying, quickly.

Very well written, Mr. Spires. I do my best to follow these rules, but I’m not perfect. Emily Post is probably rolling over in her grave at the way most of society is today. Luckily, she has family members who have followed in her footsteps and continue to this day to write books on manners, etc. The most recent book published by her family is “Emily Post’s Etiquette, 17th Edition.” I would think this edition would address most of what you covered in your blog.

It definitely has book potential now. It’s going to take something book-length to tell the whole story.

And no, I haven’t read either. I’ve read excerpts from On Writing, of course, but I’ve never picked up a copy of it to read. Hopefully I can make it for Christmas. Right now it’s looking good, but it could always change.

Wow. Awesome. Do you still think it has book potential, or are you writing this one more for its therapeutic value now?

Have you read Anne LaMott’s Bird by Bird? Or Stephen King’s On Writing? If not, remind me and I’ll bring them at Christmas for you. Both are excellent.
